Outdoor Community Theatre

The Kindleberger Summer Festival of the Performing Arts has a history that is as captivating as the plays staged at the park during its 40 + years. And it began in the summer of 1982 simply as “a play in the park and a passion”.

Patrons have returned year after year, drawn by the Festival’s remarkable tradition of producing exceptional professional productions, welcoming and accessible to all. They are also delighted by the serene location in Kindleberger Park.

There is joy in creating the magic of live outdoor community theater; the bonds that are formed between players and the audience; the unison laughter of a relaxed group of Festival-goers on a summer evening in the park; the sunset over Scout Hill; the lights; the appealing smells from food vendor carts; friends, family, and neighbors who gather for an annual tradition; the child who is discovering theatre for the first time; the smiles, and the thank you’s. These joys have brought us back to Kindleberger Park again and again over 40 + years. We hope that you will join us for a special Summer of Magic at The Stage.
